If there are no more additions, it's may be tough to field a team some nights next season, let alone play 9 or 10 players consistently. They have 12 scholarship players. One, Aaliyah Gayles, is, sadly, very unlikely to play this year, two others, Taylor Bigby and Madison Campbell, rarely saw the court last year because of injuries, so remain question marks. My understanding is that Koi Love may have to sit out the year as a transfer. You can't really can't count on India Otto, who may be on scholarship now, but she really isn't a PAC-12 level player. With the rash of injuries that seem to to occur every year, things could get precarious. Add to all that the fact that the Trojans are sadly lacking in frontcourt players and there would seem to be a need to sign an additional body or two.

We don’t need 15. Kids will be unhappy and leave. But we do need LG to play more kids. Keeps the bench happy, keeps kids healthy, allows us to run, and wears down opponents. She played too many for too many minutes with too little production last year. I like Marshall’s take.

I think we need at least 1 big C/F and a 3pt shooting specialist. Another PG would be nice as well

That makes 5 transfers in, I think there are at least a couple more needed (we have 4 spots left to max the roster at 15)

Given the increasing trend of players transferring (with playing time being one of the major factors), I'm not sure filling the roster to the 15 scholarship max is the best idea. Unless CLG recruits role players/academic anchors on the roster or shifts her play style similar to former-ASU'sTurner Thorne, she would only be putting effort into recruiting kids that have a higher probability of transferring out vs staying and developing. Unlike VanDerveer, Gottlieb was not known for filling out her rosters @ Cal and even had very short benches during her tenure.

Given the current roster, most positions are filled with both starters and rotation players:
    G Kayla Williams Bella Perkins
    G Destiny Littleton Alyson Miura
    W Kadiatou Sissoko Madison Campbell
    F Koi Love
    F Rayah Marshall Clarice Akunwafo
    Other Aaliyah Gayles India Otto
This all could change if we see further transfer movement (either out or additions). Additionally, this assumes that AG3 will still be recovering and redshirting this season and that all players are healthy and ready to play (which usually is *not* the case). The 4/5 may be where we are a bit thin as I could easily see Marshall and Akunwafo both starting depending on the opponent (e.g. Stanford, OSU, Oregon's potential big lineups), or we go small and run. Given her 6-2 height, Sissoko could slip to the 4. This team has a lot of young pieces with lots of upside so I can see our starters playing 25+ mins a game.

Thoughts? What positions are in need and who are the impact players in the portal that would fill any gaps?

There seems to be a trend of top kids transferring closer to home (Kyra White did so, and so did a few of the Oregon transfers to name a few) but hoping our own Vegas star continues to help us out:

Bigby was on campus last week. There’s been a pipeline of Centennial Vegas kids transferring back to hometown UNLV. Stay tuned.

I thought I posted on another thread but it was reported by a few folks that she visited the WOT

Her Socials also showed her visiting Santa Monica so it looks like we got an official visit but in #uncommitted in USC uniform pic 😒

However, I think our biggest need is in the post. 6-2 Kadi was listed as a guard coming into college, and may be more of a wing (possibly a stretch 4?); although once a scorer, Koi is a bit of an undersized power forward. Outside of Rayah and Clarice, we are very thin in the paint even if we were to avoid injuries.

None of our transfers were the big names (e.g. Maryland and Oregon transfers) but CLG is doing a decent job for her first true offseason. Either way, the additions to the roster is certainly something to be excited about. FIGHT ON!
I don't believe she's visited us yet. Looks like she has visited Texas Tech and Florida and no one else just based on her pages. I know it was stated that she would visit Michigan and us so we'll see how things go.

I can definitely see both Taylor's. I can see this team being a 3 guard team this season. Rayah will probably play 4/5 all season. We definitely need one more big
