  • We needed to win a game like this...

Close game, down the wire, spotty officiating & absolutely nothing falling for them from beyond the arc 3-22 YUCK!

Evan was brilliant on defense. So effortless & changed many shots & made key blocks down the stretch.

Drew I was pretty much getting ready to diss because of how bad he was playing down the stretch by committing silly turnovers & ticky tack fouls wound up being the hero by keeping his head up & draining a huge 3 with under 2 minutes to go + getting a huge block on Verge Jr on the opposite side of the court.

Very ugly game but this team needed to learn how to get a victory despite how ugly it was.

Love this team & love CAE. They brought a broom to the desert. Can’t believe they did it. Fight on!

Would've been so easy to collapse when ASU got the lead late in the second half. This is a special team.

I agree. I like Peterson. I call him my most valuable. not the best player but most valuable

Hurley out coached Enfield by about 500% HE adjusted in the second half USC did not. Talent won out over a depleted ASU lineup

Defense won this game. and Holy Cow Free throws. 26-32 Where have you seen that from USC?

Note to Enfield: Figure out away to get the ball to Evan Mobley more 5-7 tonight 7 is way too few touches

          Turnovers still a problem

Press" Break" doesn't exist. Every opponent should press USC

          Offense is still awkward, unorganized

BUT. 8-2. Get the point guard back , get Reese into the mix. 10 deep not a bad team Get 3 wins next week 11-2. halfway to a good season

This ream can be much better

Outrebounded ASU 50 -30 Should win huge with that number ......

what has been typed that isn't accurate?

Just would like to see the team execute better and not win on talent alone

              Hope the forward strides continue

Lol geeze. Make or miss game. A team shoots poorly, how is it the Coaches fault? Never understood that.

Real simple. The offense does not develop easy or close in shots
Shooting threes can be hot or cold
38% is pretty good for a three average

points in the paint.....50% plus generally

              Not down on this team
Just now with this level of talent they can play better basketball

Kids are growing. CAE has done this regularly with his teams. They play their best ball as the season goes on. Thats a sign of good coaching. I do think they need to play less zone. Haven't liked what I've seen out of their zone, think man to man fits this team better.

Interestingly the last time USC swept the AZ schools on the road, they finished tied for 1st in the PAC10 (Washington being the other team). Hopefully SC can repeat that.

This post is utter nonsense. How did Hurley adjust in the second half? Their offense was literally give the ball to Holland Woods and Alonzo Verge and hope for the best. Andy adjusted by throwing more zone at them to prevent their individual guards from going wild. With regards to the talent advantage, ASU has 2 first round picks on their team and USC has 1. You could make the case USC is more talented but it's not overwhelming. Bobby Hurley is one of the worst coaches in the Pac

Defense did win this game, correct! Pretty good sign that a team can miss this many uncontested 3s and still cover on the road.

Note to Sketch, if Evan Mobley is double teamed, he needs to pass the ball, and that's what he does. He's not superman.

Turnovers are a relative weak spot of the team, they're 158th in the country out of 357 teams, but there are bigger concerns

"Press break doesn't exist" my ass. They had 1 turnover on the press when Peterson fell down and ASU fouled them twice pressing resulting in 2 points at the line each time. The press didn't hurt them.

Yeah, USC was great on the glass and missed uncontested 3s, how observant.

Totally agree. This is a good win to have by surviving a bad collapse and then bouncing back. There are going to be these kind of nights. To be 3 for 22 on threes and too many turnovers on the road and still win is a real plus. Also a way to get the team to focus going forward. You know there would be a letdown after the big win and jumping out to a large lead. Just fortunate we have enough talent, smarts and composure to pull it out in the end. I do think we need to find more ways to go through Evan, especially when things get tough. When they take he one on one he is too talented. When they double team him it opens things up. I think that is what lead to Peterson’s last three.

Odd stat about the 84/85 conference co-champion team - they went 13-5 in the Pac 10. 8-1 on the road and only 5-4 at home.

typical garbage. If we win, it’s only because our talent performed better and no credit is given to the coach. Complaints that are completely devoid of reality — yeah, no shit we’d like Evan to shoot more, but teams are double and triple teaming him. Like the man said, give it a rest with the bad takes.

LOL, you’re relying on Bill Walton to tell you what to think? This explains a lot.

Actually I have spoken to Walton directly off camera about many basketball USC Subjects. He does lather it up on camera . It is his job. HE doe snot tell me what to think. Just talking about obvious Basketball 101 that USC could improve on to become a significant team.

He is paid to do that on camera. Off camera you will get the reality. You guys all act (Some of you) like this team is the end all. It is a deep (10) talented team, the ceiling has not be reached. If you read the comments carefully, defense has improved dramatically, Talent upgraded huge , depth has improved, Experience has improved (Seniors)

Somebody is coaching the defense and it has made great strides. Offense work in progress.
