  • Will SC win a conference title for the first time since 1985?

In 1985 SC tied Washington for the regular season Pac-10 conference title and we haven't won it since. We have won the Pac10 Conference Tournament only once in 2010 with Demar Derozan. We were runners up in the tourney in 2002 (UofA), 2003 (Oregon), 2007 (Oregon), and 2018 (UofA). We are 3-1 trailing only the cross-town rivals in the standings and I think we match up well with them and if we shoot well, we are a tough match for any team. We trail only Colorado in the NET ratings. So what do you think, will we win the conference in regular season? Will we win the conference tourney?

Sure, based on our performance so far, I'll predict we win the conference. We need to continue to improve, but I think we will, especially if it comes down to defense and Evan Mobley's impact.

I remember going to these games. Wayne Carlander, Clayton Olivier.

I got 4 season tickets that year for $20. The ticket office called it the "Trojan Horseshoe Special". Pretty good deal.

Don't forget Derrick Dowell, Ron Holmes and Larry Friend.
Swept UCLA that year - double overtime in the Sports Arena and quadruple overtime at Pauley (I was at that one!)

Conference will be a dogfight but USC will be up there. The trip to Boulder may determine it.

I can see us hanging around in the conference race, but ultimately I think it'll come down to Oregon & UCLA. I know it's not a popular opinion around here but I think they're better coached than we are.

We should be one of the contenders in the tournament.

The year we won the tournament was 2009 by the way. I know because I have a T-shirt.

As of today Pomeroy projects us winning our next 11, which would leave us at 14-1 heading to Colorado.

National ranking is now 17: best in the conference.

NET is now up to 16 and Pomeroy is 17. Is this the week the team gets ranked in the AP?

One concern for the cancelled Oregon St and Stanford games do those get made up? What if SC is 2 games short of 1st due to the missed/postponed games?

Way too early to predict a conference title, but great to have that as a real possibility. I'll be pleased if we end up in the conference top three and get a couple of wins in the big dance if it is able to take place this year. Still have great memories of watching our Elite Eight run.

I need to see a few more games before I'm ready to jump on board this train, but so far so good ...

We will be up there as will Oregon, Ucla and I think Stanford. Hope we get to make up those games without it being to big of a burden.

You're right 2009, thanks, my bad.

I truly believe we win the conference this season. This is easily our best team under Andy Enfield. Sad we'll never see this team in person
