    Melton's contract & Jordan McLaughlin Free Agent Status

    Two of favorite players in Enfield era. Happy for Melton's new contract with Grizzlies. But I feel bad for J-Mac. I'm surprised he is still free agent. I read Timberwolves and J-Mac are working on a new deal but so I hope they get it done and find a spot for him. He’s small at 5’11 but he showed he can play some and play the right way. And he is great kid too. Do you think he gets signed by any team in the next week or two.

    2019 NBA rookies stats I found

    Assists/game - second of all rookies (Ja Morant #1)
    #1 Ja Morant (7.3) [31 minutes per game avg]
    #2 Jordan McLaughlin (4.2) [5 games above 27mins for 7,9,7,10,11 assists]


    Steals/game - second of all rookies (Thybulle #1)

    33 rookies took at least 75 3pt shots. Of that list, only 4 players had a better 3pt% than JMac.

    FG%
    37 rookies took at least 150 FG attempts. Of that list, only 6 players had a better FG% than JMac.

    I'm biased but he belongs in the NBA. He is two way contract G-league player that did this against NBA players. He is true Trojans, Fighting On! Fight On J-Mac.

    Would love to see the Lakers add Jordan as a backup PG, but he would do better on a team with more playing time available. Hopefully he signs somewhere soon.

      Melton's contract looks great-- $35M/ 4 year, $28M is guaranteed.

        His salary scale is better than this year's 1 pick. He is only 22. CAE & staff can recruit and develop talent.

          Here's a little interesting info. A friend of mine is very close to Melton and helped him navigate his way through the days before he was drafted. As you might remember, Melton decided to drop out of school when it was apparent SC wouldn't let him play anymore for the school for fear of the Death Penalty if infractions were later found. He needed help in more ways than one so my friend provided him a way to work out before the draft and helped him get on a summer league team (in which he averaged almost 17ppg) which got him a 2 year deal with Memphis. Grizzlies actually offered a 4 year deal but he told him to just get 2 years which in retrospect was a great move. He then recently advised him to stop playing pick up games until his contract is signed to which Melton got a little upset but agreed. Two days later Klay Thompson blows out his achilles.....and now you know the rest of the story...
