  • Yikes! FT shooting still a problem

Our biggest weaknesses seem to be FT shooting and 3 pt defense. Our FTs were 15-29 (51.7%). At least, these areas can improve.

Our bigs are quite challenged in free throw shooting (Mobleys and Goodwin); together they went 5-12.

On defense, probably our only weakness is relatively weak perimeter 3 point shot defense. We aren't good at defending 3 point shots with lots of open looks today after getting screened. And so far, several opponents have had career days in this area.

On offense, Eaddy, White, and Peterson really came through. They made open shots and tough shots. We are really lucky to have them this season.

Question: in future games, if the score is tight, who would we want to have the ball? Evan and if he doesn't have a shot, he passes to Eaddy or Peterson?

Peterson has shown the knack for stepping up in the clutch when we need baskets to stop a run by the other team. He did this in the OT win against UCR. Dude is a stud. And he's one of our better free throw shooters!!! Of course, I like Eaddy as well. Kudos to the coaches for finding a good mix of grad transfers to complement not only our existing players but each other as well. Exciting time to be a Trojan Hoops fan!!!

Because of foul trouble, we had to play a lot more zone which allows more open 3 point looks.
