E Mobley gets 9 touches? The offense needs to go through Evan, Time for new Coach

Team chemistry disrupted trying to get acclimated to EA.(Get him into the flow in practice not in a game) EAs offensive game consists of once past the half-court line, he slowly walks the ball up, looking for a screen to develop so he can drive and pass. The UCLA short PG can hit 3's and is an outside threat. EA is not an offensive threat. Great kid effort but his game, his game, maybe good on defense, but I see no offense from him. He is not a threat. I don't see the confidence in his offensive game, outside shooting or driving.

Max thinks he is Curry jerking up 3 pointers.

It seems everyone is so equal in Enfield's offense. E Mobley is a top 10 NBA pick next year, Maybe #1. You wouldn't know that he is that good based on how he is utilized in USCs offense, or it would be more accurate to say underutilized. Eaddy is the best outside shooter. He needs to be getting touches and set up for his shots.

If Enfield had Bill Walton, I guess he also would get 9 touches, so max and Isiah and White could jerk up 3's

Evan has worked on his game during the offseason, as he can actually make free-throw. I wonder what the other players do during the offseason.

I am ready for a new coach who knows how to develop players, knows how to put players in a position to take advantage of their strengths who can mold a group into a team.

We need a coach who teaches tough defense and an offense where the best players are featured in a team concept. I love how wooded built his teams based on their talent and strengths—year after year.

You would think since Andy is a Free throw guru, his teams would at least be high in the league in FT %they are not. I don't get it.
I believe Andy does less with more.

I think it's time for a new coach who molds the schemes around the talent he has, is strong fundamentally, can recruit, someone fills that role, and the new coach has a gold mine waiting for him at USC.

Evan is being double and triple teamed. Not sure what you expect him to do. The other guys need to make shots. They had a ton of open looks.

Did you watch the game? They are triple teaming him any time he touches the ball.

Which coach have we had that would even have Mobley here in the first place.

He was getting hacked last night. If the refs are going to allow bigger plays to body up Evan then they should allow it for both teams.

It would help if Isiah Mobley would get a bit more aggressive. He doesn't contribute near as much as he could on offense. It would take a lot of the pressure and double/triple teaming off of Evan.

Evan is multitalented, he has a complete game.

An innovated coach might allow Evan to play outside, open up the middle, obviously Evan patterns his game after Durant, do you think he works on his outside game. Let him take the bigs covering him outside and shoot over them, let him craft his outside game. But that's what he would do if he were coached at Kentucky or Duke or Kansas.

Why force Evan to play three bigs down low. Move him outside, Move him around. He is an outside shooter, he hits the three and if he wants to drive, he is quicker than all the bigs he plays against. Think of the fouls he would draw, the free throws he would hit, the passes to open shooters he would make. Even is the type pf player that can make the players around him better, if he had the ball in his hands. I think he could perhaps be the best facilitator on the team. if given the chance.

Just need to be innovative and I am more convinced that innovation is not in AEs repertoire!

Its would be problem if he thinks he's Durant. He is definitely not Durant.

Evan only averaged 18 points/game as a senior

Evan Mobley is not Durant and not a 3pt shooter. Walton think Mobley reminds him of Durant due to their temperament and length, but Mobley's nowhere near the offensive force that Durant was at Texas.

Evan is 1-8 from 3 in USC's last 8 games. Believe it or not, in the same period Max is shooting better from 3 (4-20). Evan will be a big at the next level who can sometimes hit wide open 3s, but will provide his value to NBA teams due to his defense and switchable nature and being so effective on offense without needing the ball. Durant was over 40% and shot close to 6 3s a game in college.

If Mobley had better facilitators on offense with him, we'd see more easy dunks like EA set up for Evan towards the end of the game vs. Oregon St. If Enfield is a bad coach for any reason, it's for not being able to sign more players who could effectively play that role with Evan this year. The team is still in position to make the tournament and should learn that winning on the road in the Pac-12 will take more intensity, focus and preparation. Everyone brings up how Enfield teams suck at FTs, but how often do players improve or get worse at FTs due to different coaches? You either put in the work yourself to get better in the off season or you don't. No coach is going to mess with form midseason.

This whole take is almost a parody of itself.

USC literally led the PAC 12 in offense before this game.
It was top 5 in the country in defense.
Evan Mobley was averaging 16-9-3 and is a candidate for POY in the conference.

The team is 11-3 and in contention for a conference title.

but sure, let’s replace the coach because the offense and defense is bad.

                    so, so dumb.

To be fair, there hasn’t been much time for practice with these make-up games and associates travel, to allow EA re-acclimate. It’s either game time or no time.

if USC won't fire Helton, what makes you think USC will look for a new coach when they can barely fill 60% of the stadium even in good years.

Enfield will be here to the end of his contract at worst.
