  • Luke Garza 6-11 Iowa Big man threat, why dont teams double and triple team him?

Just for an analytical discussion of how some coaches feature certain players to take advantage of their skills.

Is there anything to be learned from the way IOWA runs their offense so that Garza is not taken out of his game by double and triple-teaming?.
    Just for discussion. Thoughts

Who has more upside Garza or E Mobley? Thoughts? Discussion?

The kid is a great player!

Garza will be a 1st team All-American (maybe even the Wooden Award). He's a senior. And he outweighs Evan by 50 lbs. If they played each other in a game of one on one, Garza would absolutely beat him up. Evan - as great as he is and will be - gets pushed around by players of greater size and far lesser ability. Not Garza.

forget the player comparison, how does their offense work to prevent double and triple teams on Garza a strategy question

Lol because Iowa will make you pay from 3 if you leave their shooters open

      lol
it is interesting how they play him both inside and out, its hard to key on him, also results in other players getting easier shots. lol

CabJag,100% correct. Our opposition would love it if Evan kicked the ball out to his brother, White,Max,etc. Eaddy and Peterson thus far, are the only two reliable three point shooters that can hurt you. Baumann shooting of late has been extremely disappointing.

Maybe it’s because Iowa doesn’t turn the ball over has, great shooters and Luka Garza is one of the best offensive players in the last several decades of college basketball. USC doesn’t have Joe Wieskamp or CJ Frederick, wish we did

The difference is Garza is a senior and doesn't get pushed around. E Mobley is just a frosh and strength is a big issue

He’s a very different player than Mobley and not nearly as talented
