The following is just a list, but was curious about USC's record vs ranked teams. I cannot vouch for the source as rankings fluctuate during the season, but that is what the record shows.
2013 0-2
2014 0-3
2015 2-4
2016 1-7
2017 0-3
2018 0-1
2019 0-4
2020 0 The loss against UConn may count as I believe they are ranked now?
Total including UConn 3-25........ regardless of the talent, that is not a very good performance over 8 seasons. Every team upsets somebody once in awhile.
Second USC also has a lot of losses in the Pac-12 which has not had many ranked teams over this period, like this year with 1 ranked team.
This is a year with the USC talent level and the low level of the PAC-12, this would be a year for a high finish. We'll see. USC has not played most of the top half of the teams in the standings: UCLA 2, Oregon 1, Stanford 2 , Colorado 1 and Utah 1 on the road
