  • Evan Mobley

25 points, 8 rebounds, 2 blocks and shot 12/15 from the free throw line. The young man can do it all. It was great seeing him get the ball very late in the game when the game was still in reach. Cal has a much bigger & more veteran front line but that didn’t seem to faze him. Instead, he wound up fouling out both DJ Thorpe & Andre Kelly out of the game.

Very bizarre that both USC & Cal shot 24/58. Team shot much better from the FT line 21/27. Tahj played exceptionally well. Drew Peterson had fizzled off a bit. He couldn’t get anything going. Maybe he’s used to having the ball in his hands & facilitating?

Good win. Evan carried this team tonight. Doesn’t complain, doesn’t get upset - just plays basketball! With Ucla losing today, USC still has a great chance at winning the P12. Just have to stay the course & take care of business at home.

By the way, if we shoot 51% from the line like against Oregon State, we lose this game.

We didn't shoot 51% so we won.

If we shoot better than 51% vs Oregon st. we win that game...

Good thing I. Mobley and Goodwin didn't shoot free throw much today.

That's a good point. I. Mobley and Goodwin are the source of the poor FT shooting..the rest of the team is shooting 70.5% on free throws. CAE even called them out in the postgame interview LOL.

Loved that they kept going to Evan when the Cal bigs were in foul trouble. Really loved when SC cleared out and a big was forced to defend Evan’s first step.

Damn near un-guardable when he’s being defended 1 on 1. Too quick & athletic for a big body like Andre Kelly. Great to also see him hit his free throws at a high clip.

Funny, Evan actually didn't have a great game shooting percentage-wise, compared to normal. Same with Isaiah. They both missed probably a half-dozen little jump hooks that they normally make.
