  • What will take to win tonight?

    Our bigs get their one big guy in foul trouble early and get him out like we did with Stanford.

    Isaiah making his FTs

    Max shooting less to reduce turn overs and their fast breaks.

    When Evan is double teamed, unguarded our player break to the basket for a lay up.

    Antherson making lay ups that he misses usually.

    White produce more.

    Defend their 3 point shootings.

    Eaddy and Peterson stay hot.

    Beat the Uglies!

    I like us in this game and we have a few ways to win. Hopefully CAE has a game plan to get us points through their stout defense. A big game from any one or two of Evan, Drew, Tajh or Ethan (or a surprise from someone else) paired with our defense seems like the way we win.

    I think their outside shooters are the key for ucla. If the gutty's 3 point shots don't fall, we win big. If they all fall, we lose big, somewhere in between we probably win close. Their bigs have played pretty well when I've seen them but it seems less likely that they get much production there.

      Thinking about win in 1982 (?) with Harold Miner and crew. What a game. Similar script.
      - 40 minutes of defensive intensity...
      - Offensive boards
      - Points in the paint

        All of the above plus:
        everybody shoots 75% or better on the free throw line;
        Noah Baumann makes three, four or more three pointers;
        Isaiah Mobley, Max Agbonkpolo, Drew Peterson, and Ethan Anderson don't miss any 5-foot-or-shorter shots/lay-ups;
        anticipating their passes and actively go for steals.

        Doing all these then we should have comfortable lead at the 38 minute mark, replace all our starters with some bench player #10, 11, 12, 13,...

          Keep the Mobleys and Goodwin out of foul trouble, Cronin will do what he did last year against OO, and hit free throws.

            Fwiw Evan only averages around 1.6 fpg which is an amazing stat considering his defensive prowess. Their post players won’t be an offensive threat like Tubelis from UofA. Isaiah needs to play a nice all around game.
