Just wondering. Over on the Peristyle forum some are blaming the AD’s office for dropping the ball, but does it really matter? I would believe it matters most for basketball as it’s kind of awkward having Jordan on Football jerseys. I think Ucla going to Nike is not great for us since UA was just shit in recruiting. But would love to hear the take of people in the know.

Don’t think it’s that big of a deal tbh. Some people put way too much emphasis on shoe brands. Originally, when UCLA signed that massive deal with UA they (UCLA fans) thought they were going to clean up with kids who play for West Coast Elite/Formerly Earl Watson Elite (UA sponsored program) ran by Ryan Silver. They didn’t get Jemarl Baker, Nico Mannion or Josh Green. Completely struck out lol

i read that it's almost no cash, all gear. ucla didn't have a lot of bargaining power as UA was terminating their UCLA deal. UCLA AD made the best out of a bad situation...basically punted and said he'll come back to the table when he can play suitors against one another, and in the meantime get the nike brand that figures to help recruiting the most.
