  • NCAA says all transfers are eligible

Might as well give Joshua Morgan some minutes backing up Evan and Isiah.

There is some confusion on this point. It is my understanding that even if a kid plays this season, it does not count towards his overall years of eligibility. In other words, even if Morgan plays this season, he does not officially use up a year of eligibility and would still theoretically have 3 years left. Is there anyone who knows with certainty if this is correct or incorrect? I would appreciate having this point clarified. MJDavidson

That applies to fall sports but I haven't seen anything saying it applies to winter sports too.

If it does obviously nobody would redshirt this year.

that is correct, this has become a free year and see no reason why Morgan will not play

Transfer rules at the time still applied. Now that they've changed wonder will he play

Per Matt Norlander's tweet on Dec 16, 2020:

          "Just so everyone’s caught up:

Every NCAA athlete that’s transferred in the past year now has immediate eligibility.

Every NCAA athlete is playing this season as a freebie, with the year not counting toward their scholarship clock.

          Player empowerment improves college sports."

Morgan would give us some great depth upfront. Morgan is a real rim protector.

So all the transfers get another year, not just Joshua, i.e. Peterson, Eaddy, Goodwin, White?
Boy, this was a good year to get so many transfers. If they all stay, sure will help next year's depth.

And for this year we are adding Joshua, Reese Dixon-Waters and now Drake London really helps out depth-wise.

This still seems almost too good for me to believe. Would be amazing to get all the grad transfers back next year. Conference champion/ sweet 16 potential.

Let's not forget we are going to lose our "franchise" player. No offense to all the other players but I'd rather have Evan then ALL of the others.
