  • The quality of wins and losses of our next 6 games

As of today, 2/16/2021, the NCAA men's basketball NET rankings for PAC-12 teams are as follows:
    15. USC
    20. Colorado
    46. Oregon
    47. Arizona
    49. UCLA
    56. Stanford
    81. Utah
    115. WSU
    120. ASU
    135. OSU
    168. Cal
    191. Washington

Therefore, the quality of wins and losses of our next 6 games, per NCAA quadrant definition, goes like these:
    2/17 vs ASU -- a Q3 game
    2/20 vs UA -- a Q2 game
    2/22 vs Stanford -- a Q2 game
    2/25 at CU -- a Q1 game
    2/27 at Utah -- a Q2 game
    3/6 at UCLA -- a Q1 game

It's kind of we are saving the best for the last. Just don't take ASU game as granted and let it slip into a trap game!
Let's take care of business one game at a time. Fight on!

Very good post. Nice to be able to see this. Just found out that the ASU game was Q3 today; not one we want to drop.

Still, I'm excited for the stretch, lots of entertaining basketball before March.

Our neutral game loss to UConn would be categorized as a Q1 loss if UConn's NET ranking can improve to #50 or better; they are #54 through games 2/16/2021.
Our road game loss to OSU would be categorized as a Q2 loss if OSU's NET ranking can improve to #135 or better; they are #136 through games 2/16/2021.

So, from now on, we should not only root happily for USC, but also cheer for UConn and OSU as well. 😉

As great as the season has been up to now, I can't help but feel that the next 6(7) games will be a real grind. If we lose 3 I wouldn't be surprised, or disappointed.

Huge UCONN vs Nova Game Saturday, UCONN looks good with Bouknight back. OSU just needs to eek out a little more...

It would be really nice to snatch a two seed and end up on the opposite side of the 1 in our sub bracket... But that may be a little forward looking.

Strange to say that people are sleeping on Bouknight, but he's projected in the middle of the first round of the draft. This kid will prove to be a top 8 pick or better. He dominates stretches of every game I've watched him play, and seems to be able to create his own shot at will. James is smooth. He has NBA All-Star written all over him, imo.

Its not unreasonable to assume that a player would have a difficult time returning to form post interview.

With that being said, over on Reddit the dudes were talking about JB like he's the second coming... Like win the Natty ez pz now. I'm like ok chill. So I'm thinking he's good, but he's not Markus Howard?

Did we play UCONN w/bouknight earlier in the season?

Bouknight was playing in the game against us and we were missing Ethan. I think Bouknight had 18 points. Only Evan Mobley was in double figures for us.

Yes he played. He had a good game. The problem in that game our guards were going underneath screens and allowing uncontested 3pt shots and built ourselves a hole in the 1st half. We adjusted in the 2ND half and actually played a good majority of zone and UCONN rarely got a good look. We had great looks but it was one of those games where there was a lid on the basket.

We actually learned something in that game. If you watch this team on defense now they rarely go underneath a screen. They go over the top and funnel everything to the Mobley's

swamdog , biggitysc I watched their providence game the other night. UCONN looked good, not exceptional, but the Nova game this weekend will definitely be a spectacle.

We're playing much better basketball than we were a few months ago so I'm not scared of them...
