Times ran a substantial article in this morning newspaper on how UCLA was not consulted for scheduling a make up game w Oregon. Not a peep about our game this evening w Colorado.

This make up game of UCLA and Oregon is good
For us. Surely one of them will have another loss.

Wondering how much input we were granted when they rescheduled Stanford and added Oregon to our schedule

I too noticed the big UCLA article and small mention of our game. This has been the pattern for a few weeks.

Although I don't like it, I suspect it is just a reflection of the LA areas greater interest in UCLA basketball than SC. It's not that way in football.

I've written two letters in the last month or so complaining about their clear bias. In the past, I've always felt the the stories kind of go back and forth between the two schools, no matter the sports season. But this year's hoops season has been ridiculous. We get AP stories for away games and they get feature stories every week.

I've been reading the LA Times since the 1970s and always chuckled at how SC & UCLA fans are both convinced the paper is biased toward the other school. I've never noticed much of a bias and always thought they do a pretty good job or focusing coverage on the teams that are most relevant at the time.

Having said that, the last couple weeks I've noticed a bit of a blip. There have been frequent large articles about UCLA-related stuff, definitely more than seem appropriate. There have been a few on SC stuff too but not nearly as many in a season where we're doing as well or better than they are. Oh well, nothing to lose sleep over.

By the way I still get the Times delivered to my driveway. My brother says I'm one of only 5 people in LA County. Some poor kid drops one off in Cerritos then has to ride his bike 15 miles to my house.

There are many people in LA that are USC football fans and ucal basketball fans, no matter what the records are.
