I honestly think we would match up very well with either of them. Evan is like 100 times more athletic than any of the bigs on either team. Not impressed with the guard play either.

I'm not so sure. Michigan is averaging over 79 points per game against 66 given up, they shoot over 50% from the field and about 39% from the three while also shooting 77% from the foul line. Also averaging a very impressive 17 assists per game against only 10 turnovers and are out rebounding their opponents by 8 per game. They are very impressive . I believe Evan would have a hard time against Dickinson and vice versa. I don't see them as a good matchup for USC. I do hope we get to play them.

Well coached squads for sure and they play within themselves and play smart, but they do not jump out athletically whatsoever. We would outmatch them in that regard.
Would be much more worried about playing Gonzaga and Baylor.Last edited by MeltonNotHelton; 02-25-2021, 04:45 PM.

Yes, Gonzaga, and Baylor are better. Dickinson may be slow afoot but he is three inches taller then Evan and a lot more physical. He does average 15 points, 8 rebounds a game while shooting 64% from the field. I think he's an NBA player. IMO, Michigan shoots and handles the ball better and that would be the difference in the game.

Michigan does shoot well (although not tonight), but they just aren't as quick and athletic as USC. They are a bunch of grinders, with Wagner as an exception (though not sold on him either).
All I'm saying is that if we play them in the tourney, I like our chances. Not so much with Gonzaga or Baylor.

No way is Dickinson an NBA player, at least not someone who is going to contribute in a significant manner. He just can't move his feet, he can't jump, and he can't guard anyone who is quicker than he is. He scores, yes, because he's big and gets close to the rim and not many college teams can handle his size because they don't have a lot of size either. But USC is one of those teams with a lot of size.

Dickinson kicked Evan Mobley’s ass in AAU. Now that’s not to say that would happen again, but Dickinson is a great college player let’s not kid ourselves.
Right now, Evan would eat him for lunch and shit him out for dinner. Not saying he sucks, but he's not an elite player any means.Last edited by MeltonNotHelton; 02-25-2021, 05:24 PM.

There’s no doubt Evan is way more talented, but is he strong enough to handle Dickinson or Garza? That’s an open question. And although they can’t move, it’d be coaching malpractice to let Evan work on them in space, Howard and McCaffrey would adjust
To me, a matchup between Evan and either of these guys right now would end up how Tajh Gibson did against Tyler Hansborough -- complete domination. Garza as National POY is as legit as Hansborough's was. Meaning: not very.

They would get theirs, yes, by muscling Evan around a bit (like they do everyone else), but Evan would probably swat a lot of their weak stuff away, too. I think Isaiah could do a good job defensively, too. They are just big bodies, but not particularly skilled or athletic and very reliant on their system to produce.

I do think they should run 50 pick and rolls with Eaddy and Evan if either of those teams play man (especially Iowa since Garza can’t guard in space)
