  • We hit the February skids...

    Dear CAE,

Reese Waters needs to play more minutes.
    He needs more game experience.
Baumann has to get minutes as well.
Whoever has the hot hand, stays in.
Have a great month of March.
    That is all.

Nope. Kid showed today that he thinks basketball is when you get put into the game and get to take 40 ft shots while the other 9 players on the court watch. Its a team sport, stop trying to be the savior.

He can play when his head is right.

Coach needs to show the team that you get put in if you CARE; and yeah, that may be Waters. But tonight I didn't see that.

Nothing Waters did or didn't do tonight means anything at all.

I agree. He's going to be a very good player. He'll learn from this down the road.

I don't mean to compare RDW to Kobe Bryant.
But when Kobe played in his first critical playoff series ever, he threw up like 4 AIRBALLS. 4!!!!!!
He was young like RDW but he was full of confidence.
But he had balls and he had passion and he wanted to help his team WIN!!
I see Waters as a young Dwyane Wade.
          I love his passion.
          I love his potential.
I have seen him shoot in Championship Holiday tournaments in HS.
He makes those long distance shots with ease.
He had a big block and was trying to get his team going.
Hell, someone has to play with balls and passion.
          Maybe it can be him.

I don't have a problem with the airball, I have a problem with the hero mentality. I think our players could use a little bit more moxie, honestly, its something we lack. And if he DOES have the passion, then by all means.

But the passion has to be for the team... not his ego.
To put things into perspective... if he MADE that 3, I'd still be pissed, I'd just have much less of a point lol.

I'm sorry. I would play Waters. Kid is so anxious to make an impression he does stupid things because he hasn't had any opportunity to play. This team needs someone who can put the ball in the basket. We have many players on this team that are SO limited offensively. If you want me to name them I will, I.Mobley, Anderson,Max,Goodwin. I know this won't be very popular here but I would play Waters more and take away minutes from Anderson and Max. I'm fine with Eaddy playing the point. We need to hit shots to open things up for Evan.

Ethan isn't a good shooter but he is generally better than Eaddy at running the offense and getting people involved. This is not to say that this happened at all tonight.

Please tell me what offense we are running? We have like 15 assists total the last two games combined. Our players are going one on one on most possessions and God forbid if get the ball down low and get double teamed(Not Evan) that we actually pass the ball out to an open man instead of forcing up a ridiculous shot.Say hello to both isaiah's,Goodwin. You like the ball down low where you can usually at least draw fouls but do you want these guys on the foul line? The team has forgotten how to play as a team the last few games and needs to find itself.

Basketball is an easy sport to play, especially when you have been doing it for so long & continue to work on your game. Reese needed minutes when Ethan was out so he can get more of a feel for the speed/physicality of D1 Hoops. He obviously didn’t, but CAE in his pressure said he has played well during practice. Eager to make an impression, you are right. A scorer should look to score once the ball is in his hands. Reese is going to be a very good one for us.

Spoken like a hard-core Trojan BB fan who has followed the team for 50 years or so and knows a dead-eye shooter when he sees one. I AGREE WITH EVERYTHING YOU JUST SAID MARTY. YOUR POST IS THE RECIPE FOR A SUCCESSFUL POSTSEASON RUN. IF WE BELIEVE IN WATERS HE WILL BE A BIG HELP ON THE OFFENSIVE END. STOP WITH THE 2 MINUTES OF GARBAGE TIME HERE OR THERE. GIVE HIM QUALITY MINUTES NOW!!!!!!!!!
