  • What a bunch of Primadonnas...

I'm not normally one to act like the sky is falling after one bad performance. We've all seen the great things that this team is capable of; perhaps that's why this loss hurts so much in particular. I wouldn't be surprised if we pick it back up, get back on our horse and beat the Cardinal and the Bruins to round out the season. I hope we do.

But after tonight, it also wouldn't surprise me if we lost both of them either.

I actually can't think of the last time I watched USC give up in a basketball game. I think back to last year when we gave up GOD KNOWS how many turnovers to ASU in the last 5 minutes cause we couldn't break a damn press. I was frustrated as all hell. BUT I never had the slightest feeling, that game, that we gave up.

It hurts that apparently, according to our team of NBA all stars, basketball isn't worth playing when you aren't 1st place in the P12 and blowing teams out. Yeah, I'm being melodramatic. Losing sucks. Losing like this REALLY sucks.

White cares. Peterson cares. Evan cares but he was in a daze this game. Thanks guys.

Get Waters out of the damn ball game. Kid thinks he can jump into a team game and play hero ball. Gtfo.

Above all. This ones on the coach though. Building a team means building a culture. A couple weeks ago I listened to CAE tell me on a podcast that he recruits kids that are team players and will buy into the program. Well then, let's see it.

I'll be here for the next game. Fight On.

Good post. I know everyone is pissed, but let's blow off some steam and get back to supporting the program.

I mean, this is what I asked in the pinned post on the top of the board and a lot of you said you were IN. Are you?

I just don't want to have a board full of hate posting, especially when the season is not over yet.

I think there should be a defined difference between hate posting with criticism. It seems that the lines have gotten blurred, and it feels like a sin to point out areas we believe can be improved. I'm all for sunshine pumping, but it's okay to voice frustrations and opinions.

You'll see I'm not sunshine pumping after this loss. What I'm trying to do is keep some perspective. But when someone posts that "we are getting the same shitty results" when we are 19-6 and still in the hunt for the conference title, I think that's hate posting.

Yeah, everyone has heartbreaking losses. I spend some time on reddit and listen to dudes complain about their team playing bad basketball there. I was happy at the time cause I never thought I would watch USC give up like some of those other teams. But thats why this one hurts so much. It's just disrespectful.

Enfield will learn from it. I fully believe our players are fighters and will come out to play on Wednesday. Only way through is forward...

That's fair. I agree that those comments are extremely frustrating and hateful, but that comes with making a forum. I will say that comments pointing out areas we can improve with data and evidence are constructive and good for discussion in general.

Yep, agree. I just want this forum to be nothing like the previous forum, you know? I contend that a program is only as good as its fan base. To me, that means we have to step it up and not fall into the usual "USC curse" dismalness. I know it's not easy. But we have to try. At least that's my goal here.

Agreed. I hear you man, and I appreciate your efforts in that. Really enjoyed the board so far, so have to thank you for it.

Being happy that USC basketball is just good enough is part of the reason why we haven’t seen the program become great.

The team and fans should be furious we played our way out of any possibility of winning the first outright title since the 60s and into needing help just to win a share of the title.

What grip? I should be excited the team got bullied against AZ and CO and showed no heart vs. Utah with control of the regular season title up for grabs?

I am furious. We crapped away an opportunity I’ve waited my whole life to see (I was born in 85). When will we ever take the next step vs. just being happy we make the tournament?

Don't put words in my mouth. No one said you should be excited. I'm frustrated and disappointed. Furious? No. That's pointless.

The season isn't over. It would've been awesome to run away with the title. We blew that shot and that sucks. So I'll adjust accordingly. What good does it do to be "furious" when we are still likely going to have our highest tourney seeding in 14 years?

No one has to be happy about it. But let's not act entitled all of a sudden.

Not acting entitled, but there’s no excuses for Utah. CO has always had our number and AZ has talent, but this Utah team? Come on. This was an embarrassing loss that’s been emblematic of the the CAE era. His teams have been unable to finish strong and win big regular season games on a consistent basis. It is cause for major concern.

It’s not even a lock that we will have our highest seed unless we can win the next two, which based on how we have played of late...is far from a lock.

100% agree that this loss was embarrassing. I've never said otherwise.

But "winning big regular season games" is exactly what we've done this year, save for the last week. It's why we have been ranked for the last month and why our NET rankings have been so good.

I'm just calling for not throwing babies out with bathwater here.

Since we blew the Oregon state game earlier, the games have been all been extra important this week. And we’ve lost 3/4. there’s no positive way to look at it.

UCLA losing gives us hope. Let’s hope the team has some pride.
