  • Senior Day of a freebie year?

The once-in-a-generation 37-point-beatdown Stanford game was our last home game of this fantastic season and I didn't notice any celebration activities were given to our many senior student-athletes. Did this imply that the school assumes they will return for next year?

How do you honor the seniors when no one is there?

You mean no audience attending games?

For a start, the school could allow some family members to attend. I think during our PAC-12 road games, some of our opponents had some family members in their arenas.

At least the school can take a group picture of the seniors with their framed jerseys.

We have 3 seniors on our team: Chevez Goodwin, Tahj Eaddy, and Isaiah White.
Do we anticipate anyone of them to come back next year for Senior Day?

      P. S. I think Mckay Anderson has participated Senior Day celebration and received his framed jersey souvenir last year.

LA county denied the request for family to attend. Not up to the school.

Family is able to attend the pac-12 tournament though, so I’m sure the school will do something.

Are you friendly with one of the players or families where you know for certain there was no private celebration? It doesn’t make sense to distract the players before the game if there is no crowd there to cheer them.

And clearly, they were focused well on their opponent.. I remember Matt Leinart’s last game... he got so emotional about playing in the Coli for the last time that he was overthrowing open receivers all first half. Our three basketball transfers don’t have that sort of history with the school, but still could be an unnecessary distraction.

I think that the athletic department will come up with something for the 'seniors,' and getting a recognition probably doesn't preclude you from returning next season anyway. There is precedent on this already, but I cannot remember exactly who (getting older 😕). A nice touch for these players, however, was being introduced by their family members on the video board at Galen. They looked very grateful, it was a pretty classy move by the athletic department, but maybe only the first of two bits of recognition.
