  • worst fundamental team I have ever seen excluding JR High. Worst offensive scheme

Much like the Helton problem USC, (Actually we as fans have the problem) we are stuck with Enfield for the forseeable future.

A coach who can recruit pretty good, but apparently can't coach

Teams will play lousy, beat marginal teams, lose to any team with a good coach, finish 4-5 in the weak PAC 12, AND RARELY MAKE THE TOURNAMENT

  • #2
Been this way for the entire CAE tenure. Helton and Einfield the two worst coaches in the Pac 12 . So Pathetic, any other coach in the Pac 12 would gladly take our roster and do really well with it, its really so sad that Einfield coaches this summer travelball style of play,.

4-5. meaning will finish 4th or 5th in the conference. my error not clear

USC under Enfield has missed the Tourney numerous times and has been a play in game and has won almost no games in the tourney....

We just won by 18. Perhaps you’d be more comfortable on the manic depressive board. Otherwise, see you next time we lose.

How do I know that usc basketball is a good program? Because it just won by 18 and its “fans” are still griping.

3rd game in 5 days after three weeks not practicing. Not sure if it was fatigue, but the team definitely lapsed in focus and was careless with the ball once Utah started doubling more and playing harder on D. Utah spent all of their energy on D and couldn't hit shots so it turned into a blowout.

If Enfield deserves any blame, it's for not being able to find a reliable PG who can run his offense and get his teammates into position like J-Mac did so effortlessly. It's nice to see Peterson and Eaddy create for themselves, but when they're off the offense is really hard to watch. Less silly turnovers/offensive fouls and more assists would make this team much better and PG play is a big part of that.

        Fight On, beat the Wildcats!

Isn’t the reliable point guard currently sidelined with a back injury?

I think EA can become that player, but I don't think he's there yet and who knows what kind of player he'll be able to be this year with a balky back. He's inconsistent with his outside shot, beating the press and overall decision making which are pretty important for a PG in this offense. It's only year 2 though.

Ideally, EA could have been the first PG off the bench behind a more seasoned facilitator, but the coaching staff has struck out with Thornton, Weaver, Sturdivant and Adlesh. Adlesh wasn't really brought here to run the offense, but maybe his spot should have gone to someone who could.

Not sure if any of Waters, Thomas or Kobe can be a Pac-12 caliber PG, so maybe it'll have to wait until the 2022 class or a grad transfer.

Yup. The sky is always falling after a loss and some people bitching after a win.

3 practices in 3 weeks. Actually went something like this:

No practices for 2 1/2 weeks, practice, game, practice, game, practice, game.

Today's game: SC started out of the gate on fire, led by 16. Krystkowiak calls timeout, kicks his foot in the ass of his starters. They come out with stifling defense with a lot of favorable no-calls by refs. We make a bunch of turnovers in the last 10 minutes of first half & finish the first frame with 10 turnovers. A couple of posters here say Peterson is having a terrible game.

2nd half, SC adjusts (coaching?) and they commit only 5 turnovers. While smothering our best player to the point where he got zero shots off, and without our starting point guard, and only 3 practices in three weeks with 6 of the 9 players who got PT having worn the cardinal and gold for less than two months, we come back and win by 16. And that Peterson guy who was so terrible for 10 minutes in the first have, finished with a double-double, and zero turnovers in the last 20 minutes.

**A major issue with our team (besides free throws) is our two tallest players are soft. If White & Goodwin gave their mean streak to Evan & Isaiah, we'd be much better.

How do I know that SC isn't a good basketball team, 'cause they play very poor fundamental basketball' and make very poor basketball decisions during the games!! Just because they defeated a undermanned Utes team that is talent deficient we should be satisfied with the poor play?. Take off your Trojans colored glasses for just one game, watch our team and tell us they are playing good consistent basketball? They don't and wont under Einfield or it would have happened already.. he's a good recruiter, but thats it, if your satisfied with average teams than Einfields your guy, if with all the talent that is currently assembled and expect more then just middle of the pack average bubble team then your in for a continued frustrating season, just like the last three or four seasons.

True Fair amount odf talent. Horrific use of the talent. ie. Weak coaching. although the Utah game was won in the second half by playing good defense.

The 19-2 run by Utah in the first was impressive............

FYI - the coach's name is Enfield. LOL at your definition of "frustrating season". You must've started watching basketball 3 or 4 years ago.

If ENFIELD sticks around for another 6-7 years, he will likely leave USC as the winningest coach of all time and with the highest winning % at a school with 114 years of basketball history.

Ah, I see. When USC wins by 18 over a conference opponent that took UCLA to the limit on Thursday, it's because that team is "undermanned" and "talent deficient". When USC loses, it is expected (naturally) and when it wins, it's always a fluke that is a result of the other team sucking.

I don't have to put on our take off Trojan colored glasses because I've been following SC basketball for a long time and I know the difference between when the program is in the shitter and when it is healthy. Right now, we are a healthy program with lots of new players and, some issues aside, doing fairly well during what is an unpredictable pandemic situation.

I know plenty of USC basketball "fans" such as yourself who know very little about the sport, know very little about the history of the program, and are completely unaware of how the recent successes stack up against what this program has been through over the years.

The last three or four seasons have been among the winningest in the history of the school. Last year, USC went 22-9 and was a lock to make the tournament. Not on the bubble. FInished in the top third of the conference, not the middle of the pack. This was two years after finishing second. But go ahead and talk about how frustrated you are. There is another board for frustrated manic depressives who want to bitch about the basketball program. This isn't that board.

I will never claim that they should hire me to coach, However , I had a great HS coach, Played at .........USC 5'10". 170 Point Guard Walk on

Fundamentals ????? yeah. Grew up a Wooden disciple...... Watched Hoosiers about 100 times ..............Listen to Walton or any announcer, They subtly make comments about under achieving and misuse of the talent at USC.
