Very athletic play, can't complain about it. We make our free throws and we win. On to the big dance. Fight On!

Yep, I appreciate the comeback. The double overtime hurt us with tired legs shooting 3s. CU made plenty of 3s with hands in their faces. Glad Wright and Batte will be gone, hopefully we've got a team that can break the cu streak next year. -
How many times will we have to type this? Tired of us being so close, yet so far in every big game.
hope the team can get hot in Indy...Comment

I know it’s frustrating, but can’t say EVERY big game. There was the win at Stanford, the win at UCLA, and the dismantling of Oregon. I feel like last nudge and tonight were what this team (and to a lesser extent, Evan) needs to take it to the next level. Evan is now bringing it 100% from the jump. If Drew can do that (he started bringing it with about 10min left) and Tahj (he brought it with about 1:30 left lol) there’s a lot of winning that can be had.Comment

Team just seems to have a mental block with the most on the line.
We could be talking about a dynasty of 3/4 regular season conference titles, but every game we’ve played where we control our own destiny we blow it.
Im tired of moral victories. We need a sweet 16 or better run this year to prove we are more than the 2nd, 3rd, or 4th best team in a conference that hasn’t really been nationally relevant for awhile.

Sure, but how did we do with the conference championship on the line? Pac-12 tournament? Lost to AZ, CO, UT, and now CO again.

We essentially won the league (lost on a technicality), and lost a hard fought nail biter against a ranked team in the conference tourney.
This idea that we’ve blown a dynasty is mystifying. Those things don’t just happen overnight, they take years and years of consistent play to create over time.Comment

On one hand, you’re not wrong, but on the other hand - the conference title was on the line against UCLA last week too. It was on the line last night. USC toughed it out. After a demoralizing loss to AZ the next game was a demolition of conference champion Oregon. Who lost to the last ranked seed in the pac 12 tournament! So you could say they blew it on the line tonight too. A lot of that is subjective, and there are still plenty of positive data points.
CAE has built a rock solid foundation, which is no easy task given what he inherited from KO and USC’s weak basketball history. That being said, he needs to build the dang house on top of it! How long before the positive data points actually lead to something meaningfully positive?
Weve seen what 40 minutes of great basketball looks like for this team (Stanford win). Final 4 caliber. We’ve seen what 35 minutes of great basketball can do (Oregon win). Elite 8/final 4 caliber. But we’ve also seen way too many freaking losses from 30 minutes of good basketball against good teams or even bad ones (CO, AZ, UT, Oregon State...) that at best is round of 32 caliber play.
Tired of coming up just short year after year. It’s promising that this years team hasn’t given up and been blown out, but it’s also concerning it’s always the same problems that screw us over in the most meaningful games: mental errors (turnovers, poor shot selection/offensive sets, silly fouls) and free throw shooting. We have been our own worst enemies and haven’t yet found a way to overcome that mental block.
All That being said, without a doubt, the team continues to flash all sorts of “deep March run” potential. I agree with all the positives from the second half being promising. We just need to see at least 5 more minutes of that second half team in order for that to happen. The slow starts and poor FT shooting are not exactly the best winning formula in any big game.
