  • USC downs ASU

Great win! The first half was exactly the kind of playing that many of us expected from USC. We're still missing Miura and Campbell, but Aaron and Pili made the starting line up. With a deeper bench and a strong starting five, USC handled the Sun Devils so well during the first half. ASU did put up a big fight in the third but the WOT were able to regroup for part of it. USC led by as many as 21 points against a solid team that nearly took out UCLA at Pauley after an 18-point deficit.

I'm so glad we have these players back. Sanders, Pili, Aaron, Rogers, and Caldwell are a solid starting five. And, obviously the other players are great for the team's overall prowess too. If we had all of these players from the beginning, this would be a different season. If postponed games are still played, 'SC still has to play Cal in the bay as well as 2 matches against Washington and Oregon State. We still need Arizona at home, too. The Mountain games and the trip to Pullman won't be easy, but definitely possible for this squad.

Four points to keep in mind: Oliver suited up but did not play, which was a bit of a surprise. Also, Bohn made an appearance to Galen Center. Good to see him there; I hope he continues to make more appearances; there's plenty of work the Athletic Department has to after years of neglecting this team. Next, I hope Sanders is okay. She had a bad fall and the medical staff had to come out. Hopefully it isn't something serious; this player does have a ton of heart! But, for a team with a ton of injuries, this would be a big hit. Lastly, congrats to Rogers on tying her career-high of 30 points!

    Fight On!

Forgot to mention: with the win, USC sits in 6th place in the Pac-12 standings. Pretty nice place to be after the start this team had.

It was a terrific first half for SC, shooting from 3s was enfuego, 8-10 at one point. Particularly encouraging was that Shalexxus Aaron looked like her old self in the 1st quarter, making her first three 3 3 pt attempts and ending the quarter with 11 points and 3 boards, which is where she stood when the game ended. Endya Rogers tied her career high of 30 pts, coincidentally also against ASU last year and also on January 31st. Pili struggled from the field, but did score 6 pts (4 were FTs), grabbed 3 rebounds and had no turnovers. The team although it seems impossible only had 12 turnovers in the game. They are an adventure every time they have to inbound the ball. Kyra White needs to show up more, She fouled out without scoring in 24 minutes. Angel Jackson needs to get serious and stop showing us her dance moves during time outs and halftime intermission. She played only 11 minutes, scoring 1 point and grabbing 1 rebound! This is totally not acceptable for a player of her potential. She needs to get in there and fight for boards and points! Oh well, we will take the win and move on to the next games at UW Friday and at WSU Sunday. Both games are being live streamed by the host schools. Fight on!

Always said if we can get healthy we should be a top 4 team in conference. A. Jackson will have Bonifide competition next season. I love the recruiting and this should bring some tough hard core practices next season. Hopefully 🤞 we stay healthy
